In 1868, Richland Parish was formed from portions of Ouachita, Carroll, Morehouse and Franklin Parishes. It would be a difficult task to determine who was living in Delhi prior to the census of Richland Parish in 1870.
Delhi Census 1950

Delhi continues to be an unincorporated area in 1880, therefore listed as a part of Richland Parish Ward 1. Since Delhi was not an incorporated village, the census data is a part of the Ward 1 data. An estimate of the population in what is now Delhi, is approximately 300.
